Sympathy and Aid to Japan

March 14, 2011

The proof that we are all connected across national boundaries is the outpouring of support for the victims of the latest natural disaster. We have all viewed in sadness the damages from the earthquake and the powerful tsunami that wreaked havoc on Japan. Nations have rushed to offer support, and even countries not seen as particularly allied are now connected. My colleagues, Professors Bob Madden and Ken Long, and I arrived on Friday in Shanghai, China to the devastating news of the disaster. Along with millions of others we offer our sympathy and prayers for all of those affected by this monumental tragedy.
